Fun Things to do This Fall
Looking for a few fun things to keep you busy this fall? Even though COVID-19 has brought the events industry to a screeching halt, there are still a lot of things you can do over the next few months.
Enjoy the Great Outdoors by Camping or Hiking
Fall season is arguably the best time to go hiking. The leaves are changing color, giving you a beautiful view of greens, yellows, oranges, and reds. The weather is also fantastic, as it’s warm enough that you don’t need to be bundled up but cool enough that you won’t be miserable and sweating the entire time.
Camping is another great option. You can combine it with a hike or decide to just “car camp.” You can’t beat how easy it is – just drive up, pull out your stuff, walk 10 feet and set it all up.
Camping almost any other time of the year can be miserable. The summer is too hot, winter is too cold and the spring brings allergies!
Try New Fall Dishes
This fall may be a great time for you to put your culinary skills to the test. The apple harvest is this time of year, so it’s a great time to get fresh, juicy apples for dishes.
For example, do you love a great apple pie? Here is a great apple pie recipe we found that may be worth a try. You can’t really beat a good apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
In the mood for something a bit healthier? Maybe you could wow your family with a vegetarian lasagna recipe. This can be a big hit even with people who eat meat!
Since the fall is also when pumpkins are harvested, maybe you want to go down that route. You can make soups, bread, cakes, cookies – all kinds of yummy things from a pumpkin. Plus you can roast the seeds!
Plan a Pumpkin Carving Party
Want to get your friends and family excited for fall? Plan a pumpkin carving party! It’s easy to make it enjoyable for everyone and keep it on a budget.
Make it BYOP (bring your own pumpkin), keep decorations simple and offer non-carving options, and serve a make-ahead fall comfort food meal for your guests. You can’t go wrong with a good chili and cornbread.
In the spirit of not being wasteful, save those seeds! You can roast them during or after the party to use as gifts throughout the holiday season, or send your guests home with theirs in a bag with a recipe as a thank you for coming.
Visit a Corn Maze
We’ll see what this fall brings, but hopefully, local corn mazes still open up to customers. This is always a great pastime no matter what age you are. Kids get a huge kick out of it, but it can also be fun going with just your special someone or a few friends.
Corn mazes usually have other things to do as well like a haunted house, snacks, or pumpkins for sale.
This fall will be an interesting one, but you can still find some fun things to do. And as always, please give us a call at (877) 600-7347 if you are considering a change in your insurance policies. We’d love to help any way we can.
